This section includes the Module Guide and information on assessment.

This part of the course has two components: Research Methods and Business and Culture. In this semester we will be doing research methods.

Research methods will explain the fundamentals of writing a dissertation in preparation for your final year of study and help you to familiarise yourself with techniques required to carry out independent research on the topic of your choice.

The course International Trade and Politics delves into some of the theoretical arguments which give the foundation of the political debates that influence our world today.

This class will focus not so much on "word-for-word translation" of business-related topical texts from English into German as on "mediation" of those text. We will study British and American newspaper articles in detail and above all practice summarizing them in German. The texts will be related to issues discussed in Research Methods and Society and Culture where possible.

This module will concentrate on the writing of internal company memos and reports.

This year we will be translating more demanding texts than last year, with regard to sentence structure. The content will remain of a general business, commercial or socio-political nature.
